ZOLL AED Plus
Can a defibrillator actively help you perform better CPR in real time? With the ZOLL AED Plus, the answer is yes.
Not every sudden cardiac arrest victim will need defibrillation—but every victim needs CPR. That’s where the ZOLL AED Plus stands out. Designed by ZOLL Medical Corporation, this innovative defibrillator includes a powerful feature that can significantly improve survival outcomes.
Standout Feature: Real CPR Help® Technology
In the past, using an AED and delivering high-quality CPR were two separate skills to master. The ZOLL AED Plus changes that.
This fully automatic defibrillator creates a seamless, supportive experience for anyone called upon to save a life. From the moment CPR begins, you’re not on your own—the ZOLL AED Plus actively supports you every step of the way.
Using Real CPR Help technology, the device continuously monitors chest compression depth and rate, delivering clear, real-time voice prompts to guide you toward effective CPR. It’s like having a coach right beside you when it matters most.
Setting Up Your ZOLL AED Plus for Service
Insert 10 new batteries into the unit.
Tip: Install the batteries in the two outer rows first, then place the remaining two in the center row. When you hear the prompt, “If new batteries, press the button,” press the button located above the center row to start the battery timer.
Connect the electrode cable to the unit, place the sealed electrodes inside the cover, and close the cover securely.
Turn the unit on and wait for the “Unit OK” audio message. Confirm that the device announces the correct pad type (“Adult Pads” or “Pediatric Pads”).
Turn the unit off.
Wait two minutes. Verify that a green checkmark appears in the status indicator window (on the left side of the handle) and that no beeping tone is heard.
The unit is now ready to be placed in service.
Maintenance and Management
Routine maintenance is essential to ensure your AED is ready when an emergency strikes. Both the electrodes and batteries have a five-year lifespan, and someone within your organization should be responsible for tracking expiration dates and scheduling replacements.
The ZOLL AED Plus also performs automatic internal self-tests and displays a green checkmark when it’s rescue-ready—giving you confidence that the device will perform when it’s needed most.
