Our hearts are with the Eastlake Community Church family and everyone affected by Friday’s tragic event in Moneta.
What was meant to be a joyful celebration quickly turned into heartbreak when a powerful burst of wind caused the large tent to collapse before many attendees had the opportunity to get to safety. The incident claimed the life of 85-year-old Bob Stouffer, a beloved original member of the church who had traveled from Pennsylvania with his wife to take part in the church’s 20th anniversary celebration. In addition to this devastating loss, 22 others were injured.
In the aftermath of this tragedy, the Eastlake Community Church community has come together in remarkable strength and faith. Church members, friends, and volunteers have spent countless hours supporting one another, cleaning up, and offering comfort during an incredibly difficult time.
